Black Water Dive
A unique chance to see rare underwater creatures that are inaccessible during regular diving

What is Black Water and how is it different from night diving?

Black Water dives are a unique type of night dive that offers divers a completely different underwater world.

Unlike regular night dives, conducted closer to the shore or reefs, Black Water takes place in the open sea, away from the shoreline, at a depth of 15-30 meters. Several hundred meters of water - a veritable abyss - extends beneath the divers.

For safety and orientation, a floating device with a rope along which powerful lanterns pointing downward are attached is placed on the surface. These lanterns attract rare sea creatures that rise from the depths to the light.

During these dives, divers move slowly around the rope to observe the migration of deep-sea animals that are almost impossible to see on normal night dives.

What makes Black Water Dives special is not only the unusual encounters with marine life but also the unique experience. There is no visible bottom underfoot, only vast darkness and the ocean's depths. This creates a feeling of complete weightlessness, as if you are floating in the void, and the surrounding darkness enhances the sense of unreality of what is happening.

Black Water Facts
  • Experience weightlessness
Diving into the dark waters at night provides a unique sensation of weightlessness, similar to floating in outer space. The surrounding darkness creates a feeling of limitless space.
  • The depth under divers is 150-200 meters
The boat travels far from the shore to reach depths of 150-200 meters. This offers a rare opportunity to explore the mysterious depths of the open sea in uninterrupted quiet.
  • Perfect for underwater photography enthusiasts
This dive provides exceptional opportunities for capturing nocturnal sea creatures and unique color effects for underwater photography.
  • Small groups for comfort and safety
To ensure comfort and safety, the number of divers per group is limited. This allows each participant enough space to observe and prevents disturbance to others.
  • Recommended for experienced divers
These dives require good buoyancy control and experience in night diving. Therefore, this program is recommended for divers at the Advanced level and higher who are comfortable in such conditions.
  • Observing bioluminescence
One of the unique aspects of dark water diving is the opportunity to observe bioluminescent organisms. Underwater, in total darkness, you can witness a dance of glowing sea creatures creating a real light show around you. It's a truly magical experience that is impossible to forget.
